Trout Unlimited: Embrace a Stream!

Here at SweetWater, we’re a bunch of guys and gals who love making and drinking great beer, and that goes hand in hand with our love for fishing and having a good time out on the water.

That’s why our Save Our Water campaign is raising $100,000 to support five organizations who protect our natural resources and the places we like to play. One of those partner organizations is Trout Unlimited, America’s leading trout and salmon conservation organization.

Check out the 411 on their Embrace a Stream program below, then keep scrollin’ to peep our co-branded schwag. Find out more about Save Our Water and how you can participate here.

Embrace a Stream

Embrace A Stream (EAS) is the flagship grant program for funding Trout Unlimited’s grassroots conservation efforts through small grants on projects that advance TU’s mission of conserving, protecting, and restoring coldwater fisheries and their watersheds.

Often, grants sometimes have a minimum fundraising requirement which may be too high for local chapters to reach. With the help of funding from the Embrace a Stream program, local charters can get the boost they need to secure much larger grants and make a bigger impact in their communities.

  • Trout Unlimited annually raises money from TU members, corporate and agency partners, and foundations to distribute as small grants to local TU chapters.
  • Since its inception in 1975, EAS has funded more than 1,000 individual projects for a total of $4.4 million in direct cash grants. Local TU chapters and councils contributed an additional $13 million in cash and in-kind services to EAS funded projects, for a total investment of more than $17 million.

Ducks Unlimited: Help Rescue Our Wetlands!

SweetWater is donating $100,000 to five organizations who protect and preserve the places we love to spend time outdoors.  Find out more (including how you can help raise an additional $100K) here.  This week we’re highlighting Ducks Unlimited, the world’s largest nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving North America’s continually disappearing waterfowl habitats.  Keep scrollin’ to peep the SweetWater + DU co-branded merch…

Rescue Our Wetlands
Wetland loss continues at an alarming rate and the intricate link between waterfowl, wetlands and people is increasingly fragile. Fewer wetlands means fewer sunrises with wings on the horizon, fewer chances to share a first retrieve with a first pup, fewer memories afield with kindred spirits.
Rescue Our Wetlands is a seven-year continental campaign that aims to change the face of conservation in North America by securing $2.0 billion to invest in conservation.
Your support will help :
  • Protect and restore crucial but threatened production habitats across the continent
  • Protect and restore wintering and staging habitats to ensure healthy waterfowl return to the breeding grounds
  • Educate the public about the importance of wetlands and foster the next generation of conservationists
  • Contribute to a strong, stable future for DU’s mission and supporters.
